Easy Peazy Pepperoni Recipes

Do you ever get tired of cooking the same old recipes day in and day out?  Do you look through your coupon binder and wonder what kinds of money saving recipes you could put together with the items in your stockpile?  Then Easy Peazy Pepperoni Recipes are a solution for you!

If you are like me, you are short on time and you have items in your stockpile or freezer but you need recipes to help use up those items.  This post contains not one, but two recipes with one main ingredient – Hormel Pepperoni Slices.  I have found these at Dollar Tree and when you pair it with a coupon that makes for sensible shopping!

Today’s featured recipe ingredient:  

Hormel Pepperoni Slices

These recipes are easy and tasty and you only need 4 to 6 ingredients that are usually staple items in most kitchens.  Your wallet will be happy with these two recipes since they are a fraction of the cost of big chain store delivery pizzas and you can determine just how much is too much cheese or toppings.  Is there even a such thing as TOO MUCH CHEESE???   Not in my book!!

 Easy Peazy Pepperoni Recipe # 1

Personal Palm Pizzas Recipe

Makes 8 palm pizzas, feeds 4

1 package Hormel pepperoni slices

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tbsp Italian seasoning blend spices

1 tsp garlic powder (I do not recommend using garlic salt)

1 cup marinara pasta sauce for dipping

2 packages Thomas English Muffins or Bagels

Preheat oven to 375°.

Slice the english muffins or bagels in half and arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Layer the pepperoni on the bread slices and be sure and overlap them slightly.  Be sure and cover the entire surface of the bread with pepperoni.  (It is my personal belief that you can NEVER have too much pepperoni, but layer and cover to your preference!)

Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.  I don’t like to see the pepperoni peeking out from under the cheese so I really cover it!  Sprinkle the garlic powder and Italian herb seasoning blend lightly over all of the pepperoni and cheese topped bread slices.

Bake uncovered for 3-5 minutes.  Stay by the oven and keep the oven light on and keep an eye on these.  They can go from ooey-gooey cheesy to burnt in no time flat.

It’s only a few minutes of cooking time of standing and watching and it’s worth every single second.  You want to the bread just warmed through with the cheese melted and stringy when you bite into it and the pepperoni warmed up enough to release all of that glorious pepperoni flavor!

Serve immediately with warmed marinara sauce on the side.  If I don’t have marinara sauce then I dip mine into Ranch dressing or leftover big chain pizza garlic dipping sauce that I got from “Papa’s” house!

These little pizzas are palm sized so it’s perfect if you need to eat and run!  It’s also fun to make for slumber parties, after school snacks or as appetizers for a party or get together.  You can set out all of the various ingredients on a table, have everyone make their own palm pizzas and then write their names on the parchment paper and place their pizzas on top of their names.  (I would use two pieces of parchment, one to write their names and one to put on top of it so you don’t get pen or pencil marks on your food.)

If you don’t like pepperoni then use whatever protein you like and you can turn this into a quick vegetarian snack by omitting all of the animal products and using vegan cheese and topping with veggies.

*****This recipe would work well with ham and pineapple, chicken and BBQ sauce, spinach and artichokes (use alfredo or pesto for dipping sauce) and salami and Italian sausage******

Easy Peazy Pepperoni Recipe # 2

 Crescent Pizza Roll Ups

Makes 16 Pizza Roll Ups, Serves 4 (usually)

2 cans Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

1 package Hormel Pepperoni

1 – 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese or 1 package deli cheese slices

1.5 cups marinara pasta sauce for dipping

Preheat oven to 350°. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

Open and unroll two can of crescent rolls and break apart into pieces.  You should have 16 triangles if you use two cans.

Place pepperoni slices to overlap over the crescent triangle.  Cover with shredded cheese or use half of one slice of deli cheese.

Carefully roll up the crescent roll from the skinny triangle end up to the big wide square end.  (This is opposite of the rolling directions on the side of the can.  The idea is to keep all of the pepperoni and cheesy goodness inside and the bread catches the dripping yummy things that seep out.)

Place eight pizza roll ups on each baking sheet.  Be sure to leave plenty of room for the rolls to puff up and bake.  Bake for 11 to 14 minutes, checking after 11 minutes.

Serve immediately with warmed marinara sauce on the side or any of your other favorite pizza dipping sauces.

You can also make this recipe vegetarian by omitting the animal products and using veggies and vegan cheese.
